Sarper Tobacco has developed a wide procurement network to purchase the varieties of tobacco grown in different parts of Turkey. Although the Aegean region takes the lead in this network, the Marmara, the Black Sea Regions together with the East and Southeast Anatolian Regions also have an important place in the supply chain. Within this network, Sarper has offices and purchasing agents in every major tobacco-growing region. The agricultural engineers and specialized teams of the company are responsible for the procurement and quality control of the tobacco. They visit these regions regularly during the growing season to monitor the quality of the growers' product and set the pricing accordingly.
After being purchased directly from the growers by contract, the tobacco varieties are stored in the regional warehouses and then transported to the headquarter facilities in Izmir for processing. |
