Vizyon & Misyon

Sarper Tobaco was established in 1944 by Besim Sarper in Bursa, Turkey, where it purchased and produced tobacco grown in the local area for its first international customer, the American company of Liggett and Myers.  In 1946, it built a new production facility and a warehouse in Bursa.

In 1966, Sarper introduced the automatic thresher machine and tobacco presses to its production line.

In 1976, Sarper moved its production line to Izmir in order to process both Aegean tobacco and Bursa tobacco.

Sarper continued cooperating with another tobacco company in Izmir until 1984, when it built its own production and warehouse facilities at Pınarbaşı in İzmir, and moved its operations to this facility.

Because Sarper was equipped with the state-of-the-art technologies including the first MacTavish brand of threshers to be used in Turkey, its business volume quickly increased in proportion to its production volume and Sarper added two more warehouses to its Izmir location.

As a corporation established with 100 percent domestic capital resources, Sarper Tobacco became the provider to world-renowned cigarette producers with its total quality management system and emphasis on customer satisfaction. As an outcome of this success Sarper became ISO 2001 certified in 2002. In 2004, having acquired technologically advanced cutting edge equipment moved to a 10,000 sqm building and increased its production capacity to eight tons per hour. Thus, Sarper made tobacco grown in Turkey globally known and a product of choice worldwide.
